The disciples are given a special blessing, a special teaching and a mission, the revelation that Jesus is the Son of God with a glimpse of His glory. Oh, Lord our God, You reveal Your Son to his disciples by showing us who He really is, God made man in the transfiguration. Give me the grace to go to You in my times of grief and loss.
The disciples of Jesus had him there to give them comfort, but You also give us comfort to work through our grief in times when we lose someone dear to us.
Oh, God of compassion, thank You for the promise of comfort in times of trial.
